Who they are…
Shared Earth started life in 1986 in York. The shop came about after Jeremy Piercy, founder and Managing Director, travelled to India after leaving school. He saw the gap between wealth and poverty and wanted to help people of all cultures earn a decent living. There are now 10 shops around the country selling lovely fairly traded products.
What they do…
Shared Earth offer the biggest range of Fair Trade gifts in the UK. From scarves made from pineapple and coconut fibres to photo frames made from recycled bike chains. Products come from many different projects from all over the world including Mexico, India, Nepal and Africa. Shared Earth work directly with producers and build relationships with people no matter what their race, religion or culture.
Why we think they are great!
Not only are the products from Shared Earth Fair Trade but they are also made from sustainably sourced material. The products are beautifully made with love and attention and are great value too. It is great to know that by buying these products you are helping others from all around the world. All the products are unique, you can see it in the ceramic ranges where the colours are slightly different on every piece. It gives a real personal, handmade touch to the products.
